Mug shot of Tony McDaniel |
The woman told deputies of Rowan County she was home in Rockwell when she realized what she described as the smell of someone who had recently been to a barbecue restaurant. She said the smell was coming from outside an open window in the bedroom.
The woman told deputies that the suspect could be her son-in-law, who works at a local restaurant.
The investigators spoke to a neighbor who gave a description of a man who had been in the area, along with a description and tag number of a vehicle license plate. When a deputy checked the area outside the window evidence was found on and around the side of the house that led him to believe that a man had been there.
Officers gathered information and interviewed their prime suspect, Tony McDaniel. They said McDaniel denied being in the area, but later admitted he had been there and looked at the room of his mother-in-law. He was charged with peeping secretly into a household.
