Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni |
Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni, 29, of Crofton, reportedly arrested an off-duty police officer of Capitol Heights for speeding on Route 301 and Avenue Trade Zone in North Marlboro, the news media reported.
Mastrogiovanni was driving a white van with red and blue lights of police in the windshield, according to the news media.
When the real police officer identified himself, the man said he was a military officer in Louisiana.
The official said he was outside his jurisdiction and alerted police of the county.
He also noted that the emergency lights on the truck were illegal in Maryland.
The suspect fled the scene but was eventually arrested by Prince George's County police.
He was later released on his own recognizance, police said.
