If you thought that federal authorities have a higher moral standing you were wrong.

At least one, possibly two federal air marshals reportedly faces assault charges in Kent County after a drunken fight in a bar in downtown Grand Rapids.

Matthew Carl Davids of Manchester, Michigan, who is a five-year veteran of the TSA, is awaiting arraignment on charges of misdemeanor assault in the Supreme Court in Grand Rapids.

Court records show that Davids, 34, surrendered to authorities on and posted bond that same day, after an investigation by the Grand Rapids Police in a fight at the corner of Ionia avenue SW and Weston Street.

The fight occurred at 2:15 am and a victim who claims to have been kicked in the groin, said the incident occurred when one of the marshals pushed a woman near a hot dog cart and then punched another man who tried to help, the local news media reported.

The station reports that a second official, Jon Holdsworth, also faces an assault charge similar to Davids, although no court records are available on Holdsworth.
