A pizza delivery man was murdered after taking too long to arrive at the delivery destination, according to news media reports.

An irate customer killed the pizza delivery person in Mexico for being 40 minutes late, police said Thursday.

The body of the victim was found blindfolded and with his hands tied, in the town of Tetla, about 140 kilometers or 90 miles east of Mexico City, the prosecutor's office in the Mexican state of Tlaxcala said. He was last seen Saturday night when he went to drop off an order late.

The 22-year-old murder suspect, who was also charged with hitting a police officer who discovered the body with his moped, admitted that he beat and imprisoned his victim for five hours with the help of his girlfriend.

It was when the delivery man tried to escape from a room that the customer allegedly riddled his body with stab wounds before being dumped into a vacant lot next door.

The 22-year-old and his unidentified girlfriend were arrested and charged with first degree murder, according to police.
