Craig Allen Loughrey was shot in the chest by a gun from his father, Joseph V. Loughrey, 44, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania State Police said.

The child died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred at 10:50 am. His father was questioned by investigators, but police said the evidence pointed to an accident. The two came from nearby Fredonia, Pennsylvania, police said.
