Next time someone gives you an excuse about being late because they were stuck in traffic, you should know that it is very likely they are lying.

A recent survey shows that most people lie about being stuck in traffic.
The Waze survey said 55 percent of people lie to their boss about being stuck in traffic.

In addition, the survey found that 55 percent of men use traffic as an excuse for being late, in general, compared with 48 percent of women.

People lie about traffic to their boss more often than to their friends.
Younger drivers tend to lie more often.

The survey found that drivers between 18 and 34 years of age are much more likely to use the excuse about traffic to the tune of 57 percent, compared to those over 55, who lie much less to the tune of 41 percent.
