After not approving the giveaway initially, New York City has decided to allow it.

The City Council is allowing the Trojan company to give away free sex toys on the streets of New York City, granting the manufacturer of sex toys the proper permits to promote it.

The free sex toy giveaway began at 5:00 pm on the south side of 14th Street between Avenues 9 and 10. The company plans to give away 10,000 sex toys for free.

The event ended at 7:00 pm.

Trojan began the free giveaway yesterday in Downtown Manhattan. Hundreds of women and men were lining up for free sex toys, but after Trojan gave away a few hundred vibrators, representatives of New York City closed the event, citing problems with permits.

One official said that Trojan is subject to the same rules that apply to all other commercial enterprises that want to use the streets of the city, the payment of the fee associated with the permit.

In the case of Trojan their fee was $3,100.
