(Scroll down for video) Anything can happen, even right before the finish line of a long race.

A motorcycle rider approached the end of a two-day race last month when he hit an unexpected obstacle: a deer.

The collision with the deer was caught on video using the helmet cam of Braden Childers. The deer can be seen jumping into the road and then getting hit by the bike.

Childers, who was thrown from his bike, jumped back and raced to the finish line despite the fall.

The video was uploaded on July 31, and he said that his training at the Air Force Academy helped speed up his reflexes.

Fortunately, the accident seemed to have a happy ending for both involved.

"I definitely hit the ground sliding and rolling, but I kept rolling, and jumped," he said in a statement published along with the video on his YouTube channel.

He said the deer also was shaken, but that it got up and left.

"The deer ran into the woods when I got up," he wrote. "The deer was gone when I looked back," he added.
