New Jersey teen charged with attempted murder after burning down his family home

(Scroll down for video) It is unknown what caused an underage girl to burn down the family home, but she wanted to kill her family, according to police.

A New Jersey teen was charged with attempted murder and arson for allegedly setting a fire in her family's house, and the teen is due in court.

The 15-year-old faces a hearing in family court in the county of Gloucester, on Monday. Her name is being withheld because she is under 18-years-old.

Authorities said that the fire early on Saturday, was set with gasoline. Most of the damage was contained to the second floor of the family house.

The teen and six family members were injured, including two, who were taken to a burn center in Pennsylvania, with severe injuries.

The suspect is being held in the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
