The wife of a senator couldn’t control herself on a commercial flight over Canada.

The 23-year-old wife of a liberal senator, 69-year-old Rod Zimmer, has been charged with causing a disruption on a plane that landed in Saskatoon, Canada, last week.

Maygan Sensenberger looked disheveled as she sat in court on Friday, as she was accused of causing a public nuisance and endangering the safety of an aircraft after being accused of committing an act of violence during a flight.

Sensenberger married Senator Rod Zimmer from Winnipeg, nearly a year ago in Ottawa.

The flight crew of the aircraft called on police to await them in Saskatoon, after a verbal confrontation between the two, the court heard.

Sensenberger also threatened to kill her husband and "shoot down the plane," said the Crown prosecutor in court.

She was taken into custody for the weekend and will make a second court appearance on Monday, which is her first wedding anniversary with Zimmer.
