Muslim celebratory gunfire turned out to be deadly at a wedding.
A Kuwaiti friend of a groom, who was very excited, killed the groom during his wedding with a stray bullet, as he loaded his gun to fire into the air to celebrate.
The man, who surrendered to police after the incident, accidentally shot the groom when he was loading his gun. The bullet hit the groom and killed him.
He told police it was all a mistake, and he was devastated after the bullet entered his friend's back, killing him, turning the wedding into a funeral.
The incident took place in the village of Salibiya in Jahra tribal province, highlighting the problem of the availability of personal weapons between tribesmen in the oil-rich emirate Gulf.
Celebratory gunfire is common among tribes although the use of personal weapons is prohibited.
