Lindsay Lohan is in trouble with the law again just when everyone thought that she has finally straightened out her life.

Lindsay Lohan and her assistant Gavin Doyle, reportedly are suspected burglary suspects in a Hollywood Hill mansion.

The "Mean Girls" actress’ pal, Sam Magid, called the Los Angeles, California police last week to report a theft of jewelry, and then has tried to retract his complaint.

The police said however that they have independent witnesses, who can prove Lohan and Doyle's guilt.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles police contacted Lohan's lawyer and asked to interview the two suspects, but their request was denied.

After the incident, Lohan flew to New York, to spend time with her family, but her spokesperson insisted that she was not a suspect.

Friend and business partner Claus Hjelmbak previously said: "The trip to New York had been planned for a while, and she will have several meetings and will be spending time with her family. This was not a planned escape from the law.”

Other sources close to Lohan insisted that, "Lindsay is not a suspect and cooperated with police during the short time she was questioned. The notion that Lindsay is fleeing Los Angeles is just ridiculous. Lindsay cannot go anywhere without being swarmed by photographers."

An independent attorney pointed out that if Lohan is convicted of another crime she could be facing significant jail time.
