A 101-year-old woman was discovered to be the oldest woman addicted to Facebook.

If you thought that only young women are in love with Facebook, you were very wrong. In fact, Facebook confirmed that its oldest registered user is a woman, 101-years-old, in the United States.

Women over 55 are the fastest growing segment of the 955 million active users of Facebook. Florence Detlor of Menlo Park, California, is the oldest social media network registered user.

She also became the oldest person to visit the Facebook headquarters in Silicon Valley, California.

Detlor was received by the founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's chief operating officer, during her recent tour of Facebook.

Sandberg later posted a picture on Facebook of herself with Detlor and Zuckerberg. It was accompanied by the caption: "Honored to meet Florence Detlor, who is 101-years-old, and is the oldest registered user of Facebook. Thanks for visiting Florence!"

According to her profile, Detlor graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles, in 1932. She joined Facebook in August 2009.
