(Scroll down for video) Police in California, were not the only ones pursuing bank robbers, as the robbers were throwing cash out from their getaway vehicle.
Ordinary citizens got into the line of fire at the end of a high-speed chase, as police tried to arrest suspected bank robbers, who seemed to throw the money away from their getaway vehicle.
The chase, which began in the Santa Clarita area north of Los Angeles, ended around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, in South Los Angeles.
A crowd of people gathered around the black Volvo SUV after it was forced to stop for traffic.
The officers left their patrol cars to capture the alleged thieves and were able to take them into custody.
The chase was covered live by television stations in Los Angeles. Dozens of people gathered at the crime scene.
More than a dozen times during the chase what seemed to be handfuls of cash were thrown out of the window of the car.
The spectators were waving to the alleged bank robbers, apparently signaling for them to release more money. Sometimes, the vehicle had to navigate through a crowd of people waving at the car.
