A longtime Law & Order actress claimed in a new lawsuit that she was nearly poisoned to death.

Law & Order actress S. Epatha Merkerson has filed a lawsuit against her Manhattan co-op board.

Merkerson alleges that the directors of the cooperative turned off the ventilation above her gas stove without telling her in 2008. She claimed in the court filing that this act left her "in danger of her life" because the gases may have accumulated.

The lawsuit also alleges that the roof of the Riverside Drive co-op overlooking the Hudson River needed extensive repairs, and that she had to leave the apartment for a year.

The actress is demanding up to $9 million in damages.

She bought the apartment in 2002 for about $1.7 million.

She tried selling her apartment in 2009 for $1.2 million but it has received no interested buyers.

The co-op board and the manager, Midboro Management, did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Merkerson played Lt. Anita Van Buren in the TV series Law & Order for 16 years.
