(Scroll down for video) A Secret Service agent was arrested last week after he passed out drunk in the street, according to reports.

The Secret Service now has another embarrassment on their hands after one of their agents was found unconscious on a sidewalk in Miami, Florida.

Aaron Francis Engler was found early on Friday morning, by a Miami police officer, who was responding to an unrelated call, according to reports.

When the officer tried to move the sleeping Secret Service man, he supposedly became belligerent, hitting the officer in the chin. Other officers were called to help detain him.

They did not know that he was one of the president's agents until the he was handcuffed and not cooperative when his identification was found in his pocket. He was unarmed at the time of his arrest.

A police official said that Engler was assigned to the uniformed division of the agency and was serving in a support role.

The arrest prevented him from leaving the city for another assignment on Friday morning, sources said.

Engler was charged with two misdemeanors, disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence.
He was handed over to the Secret Service, who took him back to Washington.
