A teacher suddenly admitted to having sex with her students, according to police.
The math teacher, who was invested in the Northeast Iowa student body, was busy preying on her students.
Ashley Anderson, a faculty adviser for the student groups and activities, is accused of texting nude photos of herself, and allegedly engaging in sexual acts with at least four male students. The 24-year-old turned herself in on Friday, after resigning from her post, police said.
She had been teaching at Aplington-Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, since 2010, and allegedly admitted to having oral sex with two students and intercourse with another student, according to a criminal complaint filed in Butler County.
She also confessed to sending nude photos to a fourth student and to kissing him.
Anderson was charged with four counts of sexual exploitation by a school employee, a crime that carries up to five years in prison per count.
She was booked on Friday, and released from the Butler County Jail after posting bail of $5,000.
The students were between 16 and 18-years-old when the alleged inappropriate relationship took place. Teacher and student sex is illegal in Iowa, regardless of age.
The case against Anderson began on September 20, when the Parkersburg Police Department was alerted about relationships between a math teacher and students.
The criminal complaint alleges that Anderson had sex with an 18-year-old student, who was in her math class.
"The relationship began with kissing, and soon progressed to oral sex with Anderson at least twice," the criminal complaint said.
The two allegedly had sex in May, at the student's home and she texted nude photos of herself, the complaint said.
Anderson was also the faculty adviser for Students Against Drunk Driving, on the prom committee and served as an athletic trainer.
According to the complaint, Anderson allegedly admitted to oral sex with a 16-year-old, who was also on the prom committee and with a 16-year-old sophomore, in one of her classes.
She allegedly confessed to kissing a fourth student, who was 17-years-old when they met.
"The kiss happened on a gravel road in the country after a track practice in the spring of 2012," according to the complaint.
Anderson, who lives in Ackley, resigned her posts.
