A woman was nearly raped by a man, who invaded her home, according to reports.

The woman may have stopped her attacker by saying that she had a sexually transmitted disease, according to police.

The Copenhagen police have arrested a 30-year-old, who is suspected of breaking into the apartment of a 20-year-old early Sunday, pointing a gun at her and threatened to rape her.

The woman told police she awoke to find the man in her bedroom. He pointed a gun at her and told her to do what he said. The attacker then undressed, got into bed with the woman and began to abuse her.

When the clever victim told her attacker that she had herpes, the would-be rapist thought twice, jumped out of bed, got dressed and fled. The woman does not have herpes, according to police.

The woman was able to give an accurate description of her attacker that led to his arrest, police said.

The man, who is of Amager, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing today.
