A Japanese electronics company has unveiled a battle robot called Kuratas, which means a new era in the defense industry.

The battle mechanisms were designed by Suidobashi Heavy Industry. The robot stands at four meters tall and weighs over four tons. It can be controlled from inside the cabin and from the safety of a smart phone connected to a 3G network.

Kuratas is equipped with an array of futuristic weapons, including a machine gun capable of firing 6,000 rounds per minute and can be activated when the driver smiles. The robots designers therefore asked people to smile less when inside the robot.

The cost of this new robot is estimated at about $1.4 million. The machine has 30 hydraulic seals, enabling its unhindered movement.

The technological marvel was released two years after the launch of the project in 2010. In this video presentation, the company offers a step by step guide on how to operate this complex battle machine that can move at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour.
