|William Adams beats his daughter|
(Scroll down for video) A judge was suspended from his post after a video surfaced on the Internet showing him beating his daughter.
Now, the Texas judge is expected to return to his post after a one-year suspension expired.
The Texas Supreme Court lifted the stay of the Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge, William Adams, last week. The State Commission on Judicial Conduct issued a public warning to Adams in September.
His first record was scheduled for Wednesday. As chief judge of Aransas County, Adams ruled on at least 349 family law cases in the year before his suspension, nearly 50 of which involved state social workers trying to determine whether parents are fit to raise their children.
The Department of Family and Protective Services will cease making physical abuse cases in his court. The Texas Supreme Court suspended Adams last November, while the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct investigated the video. He was later given a public notice in the status panel of judicial conduct.
The video was viewed by millions on the Internet.
