A judge ordered a woman to hold an embarrassing sign as a punishment for her crime against a little girl, according to reports.
A Western Pennsylvania resident, Evelyn Border, and her daughter, Tina Griekspoor, 35, were caught stealing a gift card from a child in a Walmart store.
The Bedford County prosecutor said he would recommend probation instead of jail because the woman stood before the court for 4 1/2 hours holding a sign that read: "I stole from a 9 year old on her birthday! Do not steal or this could happen to you!"
In other holding embarrassing sign news, a man who crashed his car into the gates of a waste water treatment plant in Wisconsin, spent eight hours holding a sign that said: "I was stupid."
Shane McQuillan decided he'd rather do that than spend 20 days in jail on charges of criminal damage to property.
McQuillan had a blood alcohol level of 0.238 percent, nearly three times the legal driving limit at the time of the crash in Eau Claire.
