World's worst hotel

(Scroll down for video) Is it a hotel room or a dorm room? It is filthy and lacks the basic necessities, and yet it is always occupied.

Are people so concerned with the environment that they will give up basic amenities as sacrifice for the environment? Are there so many poor people amongst us? Or do people just like to experience the worst hotel in the world?

Whatever the reason is, thousands of people are making reservations to the Hans Brinker Budget Hostel in Amsterdam.

The company website says: “The Hans Brinker Budget Hotel has been proudly disappointing travelers for forty years.”

They are proud and boasting of being the worst hotel.

“Here is what you will find: no air-condition, no room service, no parking, no bell boys, no sauna, but you will find clean basic rooms in the center of Amsterdam,” they wrote.

They do have a restaurant and bar, with Internet access in the basement.

As a proud eco-friendly hotel they do not have many simple services like elevators, and the water pressure is not very strong to reduce the amount of water used per shower. Guests are encouraged to dry themselves off with the curtains to save on washing towels.

The price for a room with seven beds is $33 a night per person. A room with two beds is $55 per person. Before booking a reservation one has to agree to the following disclaimer: “Those wishing to stay at the Hans Brinker Budget Hotel, Amsterdam, do so at their own risk and will not hold the hotel liable for food poisoning, mental breakdowns, terminal illness, lost limbs, radiation poisoning and certain diseases associated with the 18th century, plague, etc.”

Surprisingly, with all the above warnings, many people still choose to stay at this hotel.
