The New York parents of the teenager responsible for the high speed car accident, which killed four of his friends, have been charged in the case.
Long Island Prosecutors said that Aaditia and Patricia Beer of Queens, allowed their son Joseph to drive the family Subaru 2012, despite him only having a learner's permit, according to reports.
Joseph Beer, who was in court on Friday, was smoking marijuana and going over 110 miles per hour on the
Southern State Parkway, when he lost control and crashed in the woods around 4:00 a.m.
Beer, 17, was the only survivor of the accident. Passengers Chris Khan, Peter Kanhai, Darian Ramnarine, and Neal Rajapa, died in the accident.
Aaditia and Patricia Beer were charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle and face up to 15 days in jail and a fine of $300.
Joseph Beer faces 25 years in prison.
