A woman was arrested for breaking into her mother’s house and robbing her.

The woman wore a ski mask as she entered her mother’s house. She then repeatedly zapped her mother with a Taser, while stealing her mother’s 3.5 carat diamond engagement ring, which is worth a whopping $40,000.

36-year-old Julie Franck, from Chicago, Illinois, stole the expensive ring along with $200 cash, a debit card and a few credit cards, before heading out to the waiting Smart car driven by her accomplice.

According to court documents, 36-year-old Julie P. Franck of the 2900 block of N. Central Park
Avenue, was wearing a ski mask so her mother would not recognize her and she zapped her mother with the Taser 15 times during the attack, in the 1700 block of North Marshfield Avenue.

Her downfall came when a witness to the break-in pulled the ski mask off, and immediately recognized Franck.

Franck was arrested and charged with armed robbery for the stolen ring, debit card, credit cards and $200 in cash from her mother. A judge set her bail at $300,000.
