(Scroll down for video) A man is accused of killing several women and then abandoning their dead bodies in car trunks, according to court records.
The lawyer for the man, who authorities said killed four women, left their bodies in the trunk of cars abandoned in Detroit, said his client maintains his innocence in the murders.
Twenty-four-year old James Brown of Sterling Heights, Michigan, was charged by Macomb County prosecutors with four counts of first-degree murder in the killing of the four women.
Defense attorney Jeffrey Cojocar said that from his review of the evidence so far it seems that the case is circumstantial.
Cojocar however, suggested that Brown could have incriminated himself during a recorded interview with the police in Detroit earlier this year. The lawyer said that he plans to fight to suppress statements to police in Detroit.
Cojocar said his client "has maintained his innocence 100 percent over the killings." The lawyer said that he anticipates a long legal process.
