A teen girl was beheaded in Afghanistan, after refusing a marriage proposal from her cousin, according to press reports.
The girl, 15 years old, was beheaded by her cousin in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan, because he was not allowed to marry her.
Reports suggest that the teen, known only as Gisa, was beheaded by her cousin Sadeq, with a knife while going to fetch water from a stream in the village.
Police spokesman Sayed Sarwar Hosseini, said that Sadeq’s family had repeatedly asked Gisa’s family for
permission to marry her, but they refused each time.
Her father insisted that Gisa was still too young to get married, prompting Sadeq to attack Gisa together with a friend named Massoud.
Sadeq has confessed to the murder.
"Police arrested Sadeq and his friend Massoud, who had helped kill the girl," Hosseini said.
