(Scroll down for video) A hungry dolphin did not have patience to eat little bits of food and snatched the hand of a little girl instead, according to video uploaded to the Internet.

The parents of the 8-year-old girl visiting SeaWorld in Florida, are freaking out after the dolphin jumped out of the water and snatched the little hand, leaving the girl with deep puncture wounds.

The incident, which was recorded and posted to YouTube, has Jamie and Amy Thomas outraged that the staff seemed to ignore what happened.

"I thought for a moment that I will have to jump into the water and save the life of my daughter," Jamie Thomas of Alpharetta, Georgia, said. "I literally thought I was going to have to take the plunge."

Her daughter, Jillian Thomas, suffered three puncture wounds to her left hand, which also became swollen, she said.

In the video, the girl can be seen helping feed the dolphins when the dolphin unexpectedly grabs her hand.

Thomas published the scare on the Internet, telling viewers that "we wanted to share this video so
others can make an informed decision about whether risks to a child is worth the experience."

Guests are told not to remove a paper tray of fish near the edge of the pool where the dolphins come to eat.

Jillian Thomas can be seen in the video lifting the tray and saying it was out of fish, which led to a dolphin jumping to it.

"I am such an overprotective mother that if I knew my child could be bitten, I would not even do this to my daughter," the mother said. "But I felt safe. Everyone imagines smiling dolphins. You forget that they are wild animals."
