(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with murder after he had sex with a homeless man and put his dead body in a freezer, according to police reports.
Walter Logan knew he would be arrested when police knocked on his door.
"I've been waiting for you," Logan told police officers.
Police arrived at the Kokomo, Indiana home looking for Alex Shipp, a homeless man, who had been missing for nearly a month.
"Is he here?" One of the officers asked Logan, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday.
"Yes he is," Logan replied. "Where?" One officer asked. "In the basement," Logan replied. "I put him in the freezer."
Detective Michael Banush from the Kokomo Police Department, was one of the detectives who came to the house looking for Shipp. The 51-year-old man went to the basement door, which had an ironing board against it, Banush said in the report. They found an unplugged freezer lying on the floor with the door up, with a large concrete block sat on top.
Inside was the decomposing body of the homeless man, who was 29 years old. Based on what has happened, Shipp’s body had been in the freezer for about a month.
Logan told police that he and Shipp, had a sexual relationship for about two years. About four weeks ago, Shipp came to his home, where he drank and did drugs, according to court documents. Logan told police they had sex that night. Then Shipp became belligerent and tried to fight.
Logan then bound Shipp’s hands and feet with duct tape, police said and placed tape over his nose and mouth, according to court documents.
The next morning, when he awoke, he thought Shipp was dead, but was not sure, he told police. He removed the tape, carried Shipp to the room, put him down on a mattress and went back to sleep.
Later, after he awoke, he saw blood around the head of Shipp, Logan told police. Six or seven hours later, Shipp took the body to the basement.
Logan has been formally charged with murder.
