Police officers are there to look after civilians so they can be safe. Some police officers however, betray the public trust and are criminals themselves.

A police officer was arrested and found guilty of killing 9 people, according to court proceedings.

The former Florida police officer is now scheduled to be executed for the murder of nine people after 26 years.

The execution by lethal injection of the 56-year-old Manuel Pardo, took place at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Florida State Prison in Starke. U.S. judge Timothy Corrigan, rejected Pardo’s request for a stay on Monday.

Officials said that most of Pardo’s victims were involved in drugs. Pardo said he was doing the world a favor by killing them.

Pardo’s lawyers were trying to block his execution. They were arguing in federal appeals court that Pardo is mentally ill, something that his trial attorney believed.

Pardo was dubbed the "death row Romeo" after he successfully corresponded with dozens of women and persuaded them to send him money.
