(Scroll down for video) Another Craigslist encounter has gone terribly wrong after a couple tried to sell their unwanted cell phone on the popular advertisement website, according to police reports.

The Craigslist deal for an iPhone in the parking lot of a McDonald's in San Diego, California, turned out to be a recipe for disaster for the two merchants, who were allegedly shot during the failed transaction.

The prospective buyer met the man and woman in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant one night, and the buyer entered the couple's BMW, police officials said. That's when the suspect pulled a gun, and after a struggle, allegedly shot the man and the woman.

The couple did not suffer life-threatening injuries and drove themselves to the hospital. The suspect remains at large.

"The investigation is still ongoing," Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police Department said. "There are still some problems with the stories of the victims. We are still checking this out."
