Today, prosecutors revealed that three people were charged in the gas explosion that leveled an entire neighborhood, killing two people. They are set to appear before a judge for the first time today.

Monserrate Shirley, her boyfriend Mark Leonard, and his brother, Bob Leonard, face an initial court appearance on Monday morning.

The three were arrested Friday, on charges of murder, arson and other charges after the explosion that killed a couple who lives next to the Shirley home.

The explosion destroyed the home of Shirley, along with four other homes and damaged dozens more.

Investigators said that the three planned the explosion in order to receive an insurance payout. Court documents said that Shirley was facing $63,000 in credit card debt and bankruptcy procedures. Prosecutors said that Mark Leonard has just lost $10,000 in bad casino bets.
