A woman was arrested after attacking her boyfriend with a hammer for refusing to pay for the load of laundry, according to police reports in New Jersey.

Police in New Jersey said that they arrested the woman after being called to the scene of the incident.

Jersey City Police said that they arrived to an apartment on Saturday at 2:52 p.m., after a report of a man locked in a bathroom while his girlfriend knocked on the door with a hammer.

Police said that they arrested Jazmin Duran, 24, after a brief struggle and that she was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, domestic violence, possession of weapons, illegal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.

The 49-year-old boyfriend, who police said was locked in the bathroom when they arrived, told officers that Duran became angry and grabbed the hammer when he said he did not want to give her money for laundry.

Duran said that the woman broke a mirror in the room, smashed a TV screen and poked holes in the wall before charging at him with the hammer.

"I'm going to hit you on the head with the hammer," the alleged suspect said according to the victim.
