(Scroll down for video) An elderly man who loves his wife a lot, is doing everything in his power to help save her life.

The 77-year-old man was distraught when his wife suffered from kidney failure. He was tested as a donor, but he was not a match. The husband refused to give up so he decided to ask the public for help.

Larry Swilling of South Carolina, came up with an interesting way to reach out to potential donors and find a kidney for his wife.

Swilling made a big sign asking strangers to help him get a kidney for his wife. “Need Kidney 4 Wife," reads the sign.

He added his phone number, 314 0212, hoping someone will be kind and call him. Swilling walked along roads and highways while wearing the sign, and it did not take long before his situation made headlines.

Amazingly, since wearing the sign on the streets, Swilling has received hundreds of calls from kind
hearted people offering to be tested, but sadly, so far, he has not found a match.

Larry's wife, Jimmie Sue Swilling, was born with only one kidney and she began to develop problems after having her first child, but now her kidney is failing.

“I love her,” Swilling said about his wife. “You know she is my heart." I know he loves me,” his wife said. Swilling wants to do everything he can to save his wife who is the love of his life.
