The niece of the pastor in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area and her boyfriend have been jailed on charges of breaking into a house while the owner was leading church services.

Ross Township police charged 28-year-old Jessica Hirth, and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Jeremiah Kelly, both of the township, with burglary, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy.

Hirth and Kelly allegedly stole a handgun, laptop, credit cards, personal checks and rare coins after breaking into the apartment one night, belonging to the Reverend Michael Guthrie, pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Pittsburgh.

Guthrie told police that he hopes his niece is seeking treatment for drug problems, which he believes fueled the theft.

Hirth and Kelly, were arrested in a stolen van on Saturday, in neighboring Butler County.
