(Scroll down for video) An out of control plane passenger on a commercial flight to New York, was restrained with duct tape, according to photos uploaded to the Internet.

The drunken passenger on the New York bound flight from Iceland, was tied up to his seat by his fellow passengers after attacking a woman, and spitting and screaming at passengers that the plane is going to crash.

A friend of one of the passengers who witnessed the incident, Andy Ellwood of New York, published a photo of the subdued man on his Tumblr account.

“The passenger drank all his duty free alcohol on the flight from Iceland to JFK yesterday," Ellwood wrote.
"When he became unruly, including trying to choke the woman beside him and shouting that the plane is going to crash, his traveling companions tied him up for the remainder of the flight. The man was escorted off the flight by police when it landed in New York."

The photo was sent to Ellwood because he and his friend likes to trade outrageous stories of travel, he said.

The man, who was identified by police as a 46-year-old Gudmundur Karl Arthorsson, was arrested upon landing at JFK airport on Thursday.

The man held an Icelandic passport, according to Port Authority spokesperson Ron Marsico. The passenger tirade began after several hours in the air, when there was about two hours left to the flight.
