(Scroll down for video) A 10-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with the killing of her 3-month-old brother, according to court proceedings in Maine.

The ten-year-old girl faces charges of criminally negligent homicide following the death of her three-month-old brother after being left with him alone.

An autopsy revealed that the infant had large amounts of prescription drugs in his system, the same used by the 10-year-old girl to control her ADHD.

No specific details of the juvenile charges were released because of the age of the girl and no official cause of death has been released. The mother of the baby said that she was told that her baby died of suffocation.

The mother said that she saw her child at the funeral. He had a black eye and bruises on his face as well as marks that looked like fingerprints on his cheeks.

The 10-year-old girl is the youngest person in 25 years to face such charges in the state of Maine.

The mother left the baby alone with the 10-year-old girl despite knowing that she had been identified as
a danger to children, according to social services.

DHHS documents said that the 10-year-old girl suffers from behavioral problems, including oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity and attachment disorder.

The mother of the 10-year-old girl did not give her daughter the medication she needed, the social worker said. Police have identified the mother as Nicki Greenaway and the 10-year-old girl as Kelli Murphy. The baby has been identified as Brooklyn Foss-Greenaway.
