(Scroll down for video) A man left behind a staggering amount of cash inside an Italian restaurant, according to police reports in Sydney, Australia.
The unidentified man baffled police and witnesses when he abruptly left the Cafe Marco restaurant around 8:00 a.m., leaving behind a suitcase containing more than $1 million in cash.
Customers of the cafe described the man as Asian, in his 30s, apparently dressed with beach like clothing, wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
According to witnesses, the man seemed nervous when he arrived. He ordered a coffee and spoke with customers. Several people told police that the man seemed to have gotten scared and ran out, leaving behind his mysterious suitcase.
Upon discovering the suitcase, the two owners of the cafe called the police, fearing that the unattended suitcase could be a bomb.
They moved the suitcase outside away from customers until authorities arrived to dispose of it properly. Workers at the dentist office next to the cafe saw how police handled the suitcase. Much to the surprise of the officers, the suitcase was not a bomb at all, and instead, was filled with $50 bills.
Police were at first very vague about the amount in their reports, stating simply that the suitcase contained "a significant amount of cash." Later police estimated that there was about $1.28 million in the suitcase.
Police later said that they have arrested a man who matched the description of the unknown man in Cafe Marco.
