(Scroll down for video) A man caught the thief who stole his iPhone, by posing as a hot woman looking for a date, according to press reports in New York.
The New York male musician posed as a brazen female in order to come face to face with the man who took his iPhone.
One night, Nadal Nirenberg left his iPhone 4 inside a taxi.
The next morning, around 6:00 a.m., he realized that someone was using his online dating profile, which was linked to his phone in order to review dates.
The Brooklyn, New York, resident decided to attract the thief who stole his iPhone, by setting a honey trap.
He created a fake female profile complete with a photo and began communicating with the thief.
"My best version of talking like a girl and as a flirtatious girl, I would say, is adding wink face emoticons," Nirenberg said.
The thief took the bait, writing: "I want to meet you."
When Nirenberg said "yes," the thief thinking he was communicating with a sexy beauty, asked, "Will you kiss me?"
Nirenberg sheepishly replied, "Well. I have no boyfriend."
They made plans to meet in a Brooklyn apartment.
The man appeared with Nirenberg’s iPhone with a nice jacket, smelling of cologne and had a bottle of wine, Nirenberg said.
"I followed him up the stairs and basically confronted him there," Nirenberg said.
"I put $20 in his hand to calm the situation as quickly as possible, but I had a hammer just in case," Nirenberg added.
The man handed the iPhone, took the money and ran, but not before Nirenberg had the last word.
"As he walked away, I was surprised, I said: ‘You smell great,’" Nirenberg said.
It was a happy ending for the musician, who said that 10 minutes after he got his phone back, he got a text for a concert date at the last minute.
