(Scroll down for video) Several police officers were caught throwing eggs at the home of a police sergeant, according to press reports in Massachusetts.

Several Massachusetts police officers who responded to reports of teenagers throwing eggs at a house last month, received a big surprise when they arrived and spotted the suspects.

A police department spokesperson said that the five people who threw eggs at a home early one morning in Framingham, were fellow law enforcement officers serving in the Newton Police Department. The five police officers were off duty at the time of the incident.

They told police responding to the scene that the incident in Framingham was "a joke between friends."
The homeowner is a police sergeant in the Newton Police Department and their superior officer.

The police sergeant said that he is handling the matter internally. No charges were filed and the Newton police officers were not publicly identified.
