A couple was arrested and charged with manslaughter after killing their baby by rubbing heroin on his teeth, according to court proceedings in New Jersey.
The parents of the boy from New Jersey, who died of heroin poisoning, pleaded guilty to manslaughter after admitting that they rubbed heroin on the baby's gums because he was teething.
Investigators could not figure out how the 11-month-old baby, known as "Baby JM" ingested the heroin until investigators in Ocean County, received new information in the case that occurred in Seaside Heights.
The Ocean County prosecutors said Thursday, that 35-year-old Denise Manco, and 37-year-old Rondell Moore, pleaded guilty earlier this week, to one count of second-degree manslaughter. They face up to 10 years in prison at sentencing, which is set for next month.
Authorities said that the two defendants admitted placing heroin inside the baby's mouth and rubbing it on the gums because he was teething.
