(Scroll down for video) People were left wondering why thieves broke into a Microsoft facility and stole only Apple products while leaving all the Microsoft products untouched, according to police reports and a Microsoft statement in California.
The thieves broke into a Microsoft campus in California, during a break and stole a bunch of Apple iPads while leaving Microsoft products untouched, Sergeant Sean Thompson of the Mountain View Police Department confirmed.
"Pretty crazy," Thompson said. The thieves broke into the building, Microsoft Building 5, located at 1075 La Avenida, sometime late last month, Thompson said.
"There is no sign of forced entry, so we do not know how they got inside, but the end result is that they stole five Apple iPads," he said.
The thieves stole two iPad 2s, two iPad 3s, and what was described as an iPad 4. The items that were stolen were valued at $3,000.
“Microsoft used the building to develop software for Apple products,” it said when explaining the presence of iPads at its facility, according to reports.
Police and Microsoft are reviewing security video, but so far, no arrests have been made, Thompson said, noting that the case has been forwarded to detectives for follow up.
