The man accused of fatally stabbing his 2-year-old son, cried as he hit his head against a table and asked a judge in central Indiana, for a rope during his first court appearance Thursday.
Micah William Harrison, 30, of Robertsdale, Alabama, who was afraid that someone was trying to kill him, fatally stabbed his 2-year-old son Michael in the chest and forehead with a kitchen knife, Noblesville police said in a probable cause affidavit.
The man appeared on a video link from the Hamilton County Jail on Thursday, during an appearance on a murder charge in a court in Hamilton.
When Magistrate David Najjar read him his rights, Harrison said: "What about the right to a rope?" "I killed my poor baby. Please, kill me," Harrison begged.
Najjar pleaded not guilty on behalf of Harrison and appointed a lawyer for him. Harrison was also ordered held without bail in jail awaiting a trial. A jail official said that Harrison was on suicide watch even before the court hearing.
