(Scroll down for video) A woman has fallen off a roof and into a narrow gap between two brick buildings.

Luckily, rescue workers were able to free her after a few hours of hard work, according to video uploaded to the Internet.

Portland, Oregon, firefighters cut a hole through the concrete and used an air bag and a soapy lubricant to free the woman, who fell and became trapped in the narrow gap between two buildings on Wednesday morning.

She spent about four hours in a space of 8 to 10 inches wide. The rescue effort was broadcast on television, which showed images of the rescue and showed the woman who emerged from the space.

The woman looked up, clenched her fists and shouted, "Oh, my God."

Firefighters said they had not received a clear explanation of how the woman got into the mess. Lieutenant Rich Chatman of the Portland Fire Department, said that the woman had been smoking and walking on the roof of a two-story building before falling down about 10 to 12 feet into a narrow gap.

The woman was suspended about four feet off the ground before rescue workers installed straps to support her mid air. Firefighters turned on a space heater to keep her warm in near freezing temperatures, while an air bag was lowered into the space so that the wall may spread.

"She was in good spirits," Chapman said. "I just tried to reassure her that we were not going home without her," he added.

After rescuers cut a large window size opening in the concrete wall, Chatman went inside to help apply the soapy substance. The woman moved toward the hole as the rescue team pulled her out. She was taken to a hospital where she was said to be in fair condition.
