2 men were arrested and charged after locking up an elderly woman in her car trunk in order to go on a shopping spree with her credit cards, according to police reports in New Jersey.
The two residents from northern New Jersey, allegedly robbed the elderly woman and trapped her in the trunk of her own car before going shopping with her credit cards.
Morris County prosecutors said that 41-year-old Jose Defreitas and 52-year-old Marilyn Nadeau, both of East Rutherford, approached the 71-year-old resident of New Hampshire, in an office building in
Parsippany last month.
Armed with a pistol, Defreitas allegedly forced the woman into her car, took her to an ATM and withdrew money from her account. Then the woman went to another parking lot while Nadeau followed behind her in the victim's car.
The couple allegedly forced the woman into her trunk, but she was eventually released.
Nadeau and Defreitas both face numerous charges including kidnapping, robbery and theft.
