Mother shows police photo of her child gagged and bound with duct tape

(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested and charged with child abuse after she showed police a photo of her child gagged and bound with duct tape, according to police in Pennsylvania.

The young mother who showed police the photo of her two-year-old daughter gagged and bound with duct tape, was identified as Caira Ferguson. She was charged with child endangerment.

Ferguson, 21, who is seen posing next to the child in the disturbing photo, happened to voluntarily show the authorities the photo as part of an identity theft report.

In the photo, the girl, who is wearing only a diaper, can be seen attached to a plastic chair with duct tape around the wrists, chest and legs, with a piece also through her mouth.

The Southeast Pennsylvania woman complained to police Tuesday, that her identity had been stolen and said that the image had been published on the Internet without her consent.

The next day, she was arrested and charged by police in Nether Providence. The police who arrested Ferguson, said that during questioning she admitted to taping the girl to the chair.

The two-year-old daughter of Ferguson is currently in the custody of child welfare workers.
Ferguson has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful retraint and illegal detention.
