A New York police officer committed suicide after he was forced to have sex with his female boss, according to a new lawsuit filed in court.

New York Police Department police officer Matthew Schindler, was forced into sex by her boss at a Queens precinct and driven to suicide by the torment, his wife said in a lawsuit.

Gina Schindler is suing the city, the NYPD, and Sergeant Christine Hertzel, whom the widow accused of forcing her husband to have sex in exchange for decent working conditions. She said that the sexual harassment violated the civil rights of the deceased officer.

Schindler tried to end the encounters with Hertzel many times, but she threatened to give him poor working hours and unpleasant tasks, the lawsuit states, which was filed in Queens Supreme Court.

The lawsuit alleges that Schindler tried to break off the encounters for the last time, telling Hertzel that he was tormented by guilt and contemplating suicide. She refused.

Later that day, the father of three became the 4th NYPD officer to commit suicide within weeks.

He took his patrol car for a spin on the Long Island Expressway and used his service pistol to shoot himself.
