(Scroll down for video) A fitness model who loved to shoot exercise videos on train tracks, was killed after being hit by a train, police in California said.

Los Angeles Police said that 37-year-old George Gregory Plitt Jr., who was among the most recognizable people in the fitness industry, was recording a video for his website with two crew members when the Metrolink passenger train hit him.

Members of the recording crew said that Plitt misjudged the situation, and tripped and fell before being hit by the train.

Investigators have ruled out suicide, and were trying to determine why the video was being recorded without a permit in a restricted area on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses saw Plitt standing on the tracks even though the train horn was blaring, Burbank police Sgt. Scott Meadows said. A motivational video on Plitt’s website shows him working out on the tracks while a Metrolink train passes.

It seems that Plitt may have believed that the train was on a nearby track. Police warned that walking on the train tracks is trespassing.
