Two tourists who decided to have sex in the hot Nevada desert, ran into trouble as the man suffered a heart attack, rescue workers said.

55-year-old Peter Cousins and Dawn Reed, jumped into a hot spring, 60 miles away from the nearest phone signal.

Cousins said that he and Reed, thought it would be romantic to make love in the water. They did, but at some point, Cousins suffered a heart attack.

Reed was forced to run 3 miles to get help. She flagged down a truck driver who was able to call an ambulance on his satellite phone.

Cousins was rushed to a hospital and had a stent put in his heart. After five days of treatment, he was given a $300,000 bill.

Worse, he had to return home to Dorset, United Kingdom, for more treatment, which meant the end of his relationship with Reed, who had stayed in Nevada to work as a chef.

Cousins had no travel insurance, and he is currently trying to clear the debt with the Reno hospital.
