(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on charges of criminal mischief after he bulldozed his home without a permit while his wife was at work, police in New York said.
Middletown Police said that the man’s wife was horrified to find that her husband knocked down their home while she was at work.
Diane Andryshak said that she came home to an empty lot where she had lived with her husband of 9 years. The house had three bedrooms and a bathroom.
According to the police investigation, 48-year-old James Rhein rented a bulldozer and flattened the house without a permit on Monday morning.
Rhein told investigators that the house was in a state of disorder and could not be repaired. Police said that Rhein was charged with criminal mischief, and was released on $300 bail.
