(Scroll down for video) A boy was arrested on charges of murder after allegedly fatally stabbing a boy outside his school, prosecutors in California said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said that the 13-year-old boy denied killing a 14-year-old boy outside his school in East Los Angeles.
The teen denied one count of murder as well as gang and weapon allegations.
He made his initial appearance at the Eastlake Juvenile Courthouse, and was ordered to return for a pretrial hearing.
The teen will remain in Juvenile Hall. According to the police investigation, the 14-year-old victim was stabbed to death by the suspect outside the school.
The victim - Steven Cruz, a student at Garfield High School - was taken to a hospital, where he died.
